Hi! I am a PhD candidate in Linguistics at the University of Southern California. I work on articulatory phonology, phonetics, speech prosody, intonation, tone and register, with a current focus on Western/Southern African and Sino-Tibetan languages. I also work on psycholinguistics, especially about cognitive mechanisms in speech production and perception. My research methods combine behavioral experiments, computational modeling and linguistic fieldwork. My current dissertation research is on a dynamical gestural approach to the tonal, respiratory, and supraglottal aspects of sentence intonation production in African tonal languages.
